meine Email an Dr. Wolfgang Thierse

please embed in HD
Could just everyone embed their youTube clips in HD? Embedding in non-HD format is ugly and unnessesary. If you don’t know how to embed in HD, here is how. Thanks.

frustrated…
For more than two days now, the Firefox extension “ubiquity” doesn’t work on my machine anymore. I tried restarts. I tried re-installing the extension. I tried un-installing every other extension. Nothing worked so far. I use the latest beta on Firefox 3.0.8, OSX 10.5.6, MacBook Pro 2008 (not the latest one). If you have any idea how I could fix this, or where to get...

stevenf.com - WARNING: A long, rambly exploration of the state… A few days ago I posted a short video on Grape, a desktop ‘service’ to play around with data/files. Today I want to go a bit more into detail and explain how I think a possible future could look like. Steven Frank wrote an essay about how we deal with computer and data today. Though he has no ideal solution or...

What I learned about being rich ”Interesting piece in the NY Times magazine about Twitter and how connectivity is for poor people. I learned about this when I made enough money in the late 80s to realize what wealth buys — distance. Then it took a few years to learn that distance is not what I wanted, in fact I don’t think it’s human to crave distance. People are built to want...

The Evolution of Door Usability
The Evolution of Door Usability ” We’ve all been there. You are striding confidently along, your legs propelling you at a decent pace as you continue your journey of the day. Barely pausing, you confidently reach out to push open a door that leads you to the next chapter in your book of the day when… smack. It’s not a push door. It’s a pull door. Happens to me...

A Spreadsheet for my workout plan
Imagine this: You have a nice workout plan. Perhaps even your studio has given it to you. Everything is organized, you can add your weights, repetitions and the date you had your workout. This is written on a pice of paper you have to carry in your pocket. It gets sweaty, you have to fumble it out of your pocket, you have to carry a pen with you to fill in all the detail. Some people carry a small...
